Let us pray for the Hudson family...but let us all begin to ask the necessary questions about WHY, why, why do black children have to die because black adults refuse and choose to have mentally unstable persons in their lives??
My friends and I had conversations about this issue too. Too often we, especially black women, choose to be with men with backgrounds such as William Balfour because of low-self esteem. At some point in our lives, many of us buy the lie that a brother like W. Balfour is the best that we can do. We settle.
What is even more heartbreaking is the the message Julia Hudson left on her Myspace page basically stating that its her fault that these brutal murders happened. I do not want her to blame her self. She did not committ these acts.
Yes, the decision to marry/even bring someone like him in her life was bad; but, she recognized the fact that he was no good for her and left him.
